Katelynn Hovlid

Katelynn Hovlid is entering her third full academic year as an assistant athletic trainer, having joined the College in January 2018. Hovlid’s primary sports include men’s basketball, women’s lacrosse, women’s soccer, softball, and volleyball.

Hovlid came to the College from Optim Healthcare in Georgia, where her duties included 2.5 years as the head athletic trainer at Brewton-Parker College in Mount Vernon. Prior to Optim Healthcare and Brewton-Parker, Hovlid was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Georgia Institute of Technology where she worked with the football and women’s tennis teams while pursing her master’s at Georgia State University.

Hovlid holds a master’s degree in sports medicine from Georgia State and a bachelor’s degree in athletic training from the University of Toledo. She earned her certification from the National Athletic Trainers’ Association in 2013, her Georgia licensure in 2013, and her Ohio licensure in 2018.

Personally, Hovlid and her husband, Shawn, reside in Wooster with their daughter, Charlotte.
