Spirit

Pipers
Nothing says Wooster like the bagpipers leading the football team down the hill and onto the Andrew Turf Field at John P. Papp Stadium.

Cheerleaders

An integral part of the gameday experience at football and basketball games, Wooster's cheerleaders keep the fans entertained and players' spirits up, and lead the crow in cheers.

Marching Band

Many students' fondest memories of Wooster are the bright colors and brilliant sounds of the Fighting Scot marching band. With around 65 members each year, the band takes the field, dressed in MacLeod Tartan kilts performing traditional Scottish fight songs as well as popular themes. We believe we have the "Best Small College Band in the Land."

Fighting Scots Nickname

Did you ever wonder why we are called the Fighting Scots? The origin of the nickname is nearly 100-years-old. Today we're proud to call all 23 of our varsity sports' teams Fighting Scots (no more Lady Scots or Scotties). Wooster introduced Archie as its new mascot in 2023. You can learn more about that change here.
