CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – Ohio Wesleyan University's Steve Skarsten spun a complete game, eliminating The College of Wooster in the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament as the Battling Bishops took the teams' loser bracket game by a final count of 10-2 Friday night at VA Memorial Stadium.

Wooster (20-15) still has five games remaining this week in an attempt to make an impression on the NCAA selection committee as the Fighting Scots make a last push for an at-large bid to the national field.

Skarsten's shutout bid was ruined in the ninth inning, as Zack Vesco took a leadoff hit by pitch, Craig Day lined a one-out single into right, and Michael DeBord scored them both with a double into the left-center gap.

Prior to that, Wooster managed just four hits – a Greg Van Horn double in the first inning, and singles for Billy Farrow, Johnathan Ray, and Zac Mathie in the sixth, seventh, and eighth, respectively.

The Scots' starting pitcher was Keenan White, who allowed four earned runs (seven total) on nine hits while slipping to 2-3 on the season. Skarsten improved to 5-2.

Leading Ohio Wesleyan's offense was its No. 9 hitter, James Toland, who went 4-for-4 with four RBI.

Wooster will be at John Carroll University (14-15) Tuesday afternoon.
