The College of Wooster's Greg Van Horn was placed on the D3baseball.com All-America Third Team, the website announced on Wednesday. Van Horn also earned third-team All-American honors in 2010.

This season, the Fighting Scots' senior shortstop produced a .548 on-base percentage by hitting .422 (54-for-128) to go with 19 walks and 19 hit by pitches. It was the third-highest on-base percentage in school history, only behind his .564 mark from last year and one other, and currently it ranks eighth in the NCAA Div. III statistics. Among Van Horn's other impressive numbers, he stole 22 bases in 23 attempts and tallied 16 extra-base hits via 11 doubles, two triples, and three home runs.

Van Horn reached base safely in his last 21 games (March 27-May 7), which was a team-long streak for the season, and he had nine multi-hit games during that stretch. He went 6-for-11 with five runs, three doubles, and three RBI en route to a spot on the All-North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament Team, while his most impressive outing was a 5-for-5, four-RBI, two-steal effort versus Manchester College on March 23.

In his two-year career at Wooster, Van Horn, who transferred from Princeton University, broke the school record for batting average, finishing at .456 (125-for-274), as well as slugging percentage (.759), and on-base percentage (.556).

Van Horn is currently hoping to hear his name called in the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft, which will be conducted June 6-8.
