The College of Wooster's season-long 10-game winning streak was snapped on Tuesday, as Heidelberg University put up crooked numbers in the second, third, and fourth innings, scoring all nine of its runs then en route to a 9-4 victory during the non-conference foes' match-up at Tiffin, Ohio.

Of note, it marked the 400th career win for Heidelberg coach Matt Palm, and the milestone came against his alma mater. Palm graduated from Wooster in 1995.

Wooster (21-12) struck first via a two-out rally during its initial at bat. Eddie Reese singled, Johnathan Ray drew the first of his three walks on the afternoon, and Billy Farrow drove in Reese with a base knock to make it 1-0.

Right after Heidelberg (19-15) tallied three in the second inning, the Fighting Scots evened the score. Leadoff hitter Jarrod Mancine opened the third with a triple and Reese brought him home on a one-out single. Reese would round the bases on another Ray walk and Farrow single.

The scoring continued in the home half of the third when two Wooster pitchers combined to issue four free passes (three walks, one hit by pitch). The 'Berg mixed in a couple of singles for a four-run inning and 7-3 lead.

After a scoreless top of the fourth, control problems continued to haunt the Scots as they walked the first two hitters, both of which scored on Elvin Williams' two-out triple.

That wound up being all of the runs for Heidelberg, as Jon Huisel came on in the fifth and pitched three scoreless innings, scattering three singles.

While Huisel kept Wooster within striking distance, the offense only managed one more tally. After leaving the bases loaded in the seventh, a pinch hit double by Matt Felvey helped create a score during the eighth. Felvey would cross home plate on a two-out error.

In addition to his three walks, Ray stroked a triple during one of his two official at bats, while Mancine (2-for-5), Reese (2-for-5), and Farrow (2-for-4) each collected two hits on the day.

Wooster will be back on the diamond Wednesday, welcoming No. 1 ranked Marietta College (25-5) to Art Murray Field for a 4 p.m. opening pitch.
