Jamie Lackner, a sophomore first baseman, helped propel The College of Wooster into this week's four-team North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament by clubbing three home runs over the weekend, which led to him being selected as the NCAC Hitter of the Week, announced the league office on Monday.

Lackner, now a two-time NCAC Hitter of the Week this season, was one of several offensive stars for the Fighting Scots during their sweep of Wabash College in the teams' NCAC Cross-Over Series on Saturday and Sunday, as they prevailed by scores of 8-6, 26-20, and 23-10. The team's clean-up hitter was 7-for-10 at the plate with the three homers and nine RBI.

Wooster played a pair of mid-week, non-league games, and Lackner was a force in those as well, as he went 9-for-15 overall for the week while drawing seven walks and taking a hit by pitch twice for a .750 on-base percentage.

Lackner, the current NCAA Div. III leader in home runs with 17 this spring, and his teammates will be in Chillicothe, Ohio, for the NCAC Tournament on May 7-8. The Scots will take on Ohio Wesleyan University (27-11) in the opening game Thursday at 10 a.m.
