Tim Pettorini, the longtime, legendary mentor of The College of Wooster's storied baseball program, will be inducted to the Greater Akron Baseball Hall of Fame this Sunday at Stow's Youth Baseball Hall.

Pettorini recently completed his 36th year at the helm of Wooster's program, and he's Div. III's winningest active coach with 1,173 career wins (1,173-436-6), all at the College.

A regular in the NCAA Div. III Baseball Championship field, Pettorini's guided his Scots to 24 appearances, and his squads have won the Mideast regional and advanced to the eight-team finals on five occasions, most recently in 2009 where the Scots' finished as the national runner-up for the second time.

At the conference level, Pettorini's Scots have won a league-high 17 North Coast Athletic Conference Championships, and that's over 50 percent of the championships in the league's 33-year history. He's been selected by his peers as the NCAC Coach of the Year 13 times, and has six regional coach of the year honors during his career.

Pettorini's student-athletes have earned 50 All-American honors and 202 all-conference honors, averages of 1.4 and 5.6 per year respectively.
