D3baseball.com Preseason All-America Team
Junior Michael Wielansky of The College of Wooster baseball team earned honorable mention preseason All-America honors, as announced by the popular website D3baseball.com on Thursday.
Wielansky, a first-team American Baseball Coaches Association All-American selection last year, has established himself as one of Div. III's top all-around players. He led the nation with 69 runs as a sophomore, and ranked in the top 10 in Div. III in total bases (136) and hits (79), while also sporting a phenomenal .986 fielding percentage from his shortstop position.
Among his accolades from last year, Wielansky became the College's first ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award winner, and he was the ABCA Mideast Region Position Player-of-the-Year.
The D3baseball.com preseason All-America team is chosen from the previous year's All-American and All-Region nominations.
