Harwood's Monster Season-Opener Lands Sophomore as NCAC Player-of-the-Week

Sophomore Dan Harwood of The College of Wooster baseball team slugged his way to the first weekly North Coast Athletic Conference Player-of-the-Week award, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Harwood was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate during Sunday's 17-9 season-opening win over the University of Mount Union. Harwood crushed a pair of home runs in the contest, including a two-run shot off of 2017 All-American and American Baseball Coaches Association Mideast Region Pitcher-of-the-Year Phil Mary in the second inning.

Harwood, who drove in four runs and scored three times, finishing with a 2.000 slugging percentage and a 1.000 on-base percentage for the game.

Wooster, ranked 14th in the D3baseball.com/National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Top 25, is idle until a 4 p.m. tilt versus No. 13 Keystone College on March 12 in Port Charlotte, Fla.
