Sophomore Dan Harwood was a force to be reckoned with at the plate last week for The College of Wooster baseball team, and his slash line of .667/.750/1.467 led to the designated hitter being named to D3baseball.com's Team-of-the-Week for the third time this spring, as announced by the popular online website on Tuesday morning. Senior Drew Tornow joined Harwood on the team after a week in which he slashed .600/.667/1.267.

Harwood went 10-for-15 at the plate last week with 13 RBI, nine runs, four doubles, two home runs, and a triple in a week in which the Fighting Scots outscored the opposition 89-9 over four games. The smooth-swinging lefty opened the week with a 3-for-3, six-RBI showing in a 28-2 win over Hiram College. In that game, Harwood hit a pair of two-baggers, walked twice, and stole a base. In the nightcap, Harwood was 3-for-5 with three runs scored, three RBI, and finished a single shy of the cycle.

The sophomore's two-run round tripper during Saturday's 7-2 win over Ohio Wesleyan University tied the game at two in the top of the sixth inning. During the week's finale, Harwood went 3-for-4 with four runs and two RBI in a game in which Wooster matched its 32-year-old single-game program record for runs (34) and hits (31), and established new single-game program highs in RBI (34) and at bats (59).

On the year, Harwood now has eight homers, 33 RBI, has hit safely in 14 straight games, and is hitting .508 (33-for-65).

Tornow went 9-for-15 at the plate with nine runs, six RBI, and five of his nine base knocks went for extra bases. Wooster's right fielder was a perfect 4-for-4 on stolen base attempts and briefly moved into a tie for the program's career record for triples (13) during the first game of Thursday's sweep over Hiram prior to junior Michael Wielansky legging out his 14th-career three-bagger in the nightcap.

Tornow upped his hitting streak to 12 straight games thanks to a pair of three-hit outings against Ohio Wesleyan. In game one, Tornow's solo shot in the top of the seventh inning put Wooster up 3-2 in an eventual 7-2 win. The left-handed slugger's other mash came in the second game of the Hiram series as part of the fourth inning when Wooster went deep three times.

Tornow's week started with a 2-for-2 game during the 28-2 win over Hiram, and the speedster added two runs, RBI, and walks, and stole a base. He went 1-for-4 with three runs scored in the nightcap.

For the season, Tornow is hitting .418 (28-for-67) and boasts the team's second-highest slugging percentage at .761.

In other news, Wooster climbed three spots to third in the D3baseball.com/National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Top 25 Poll.

Wooster (15-3), in the midst of a 10-game road trip, takes on Thiel College (10-12) at 4 p.m. this afternoon.
