Junior Michael Wielansky of the second-ranked College of Wooster baseball team continued to rake in the honors, as the shortstop earned the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's Honorable Mention Hitter-of-the-Week, as announced by the organization on Wednesday.

Wielansky, who also earned a spot on the D3baseball.com Team-of-the-Week and was tabbed as the North Coast Athletic Conference's Player-of-the-Week, slashed .655/.688/1.172 during a 5-1 week for the Fighting Scots. Wielansky went 19-for-29 at the plate on the week with five doubles, two triples, two homers, 13 RBI, and 16 runs scored. Wielansky's week was highlighted by a 5-for-6 showing with two doubles, a homer, five RBI, and three runs scored in a 24-14 non-conference win over Muskingum University on April 20.

Over Wooster's four league games last week, Wielansky hit .611 (11-for-18) with two doubles, two triples, seven RBI, and 12 runs scored.

Wielansky is Wooster's first student-athlete to be recognized by the NCBWA since Nanak Saran earned the honorable mention pitcher honor on May 10, 2017.

Wooster (25-4) is currently at No. 12 Case Western Reserve University (25-6) for a 4 p.m. non-conference tilt.
