College of Wooster baseball senior Corey Knauf's dominant Saturday start against Case Western Reserve University caught the attention of the North Coast Athletic Conference, which selected the right-hander as its Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday.

Knauf handcuffed CWRU's lineup for seven innings in Saturday's 9-1 win. He struck out eight while allowing one run on five hits. Knauf set down the side in order in the first, third, and fourth innings and faced one batter over the minimum through four.

Knauf escaped out of a sixth-inning jam, striking out CWRU's third and fourth hitters after a Spartan reached third base in the sixth inning. Wooster was protecting a 2-1 lead at the time.

This is Knauf's second NCAC Pitcher of the Week award.

Wooster (4-3) returns to action against Marywood University in a doubleheader on Monday, March 11 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
