Senior quarterback Richard Barnes had a big game through the air and on the ground in The College of Wooster's 39-21 win over Oberlin College, and he was rewarded by being named the North Coast Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Barnes accounted for 336 total yards of offense, with 224 passing on 14-of-25 attempts, and a career-high 112 rushing on 17 attempts (6.6 average). He also threw for three touchdowns and ran for another on his way to his second career four-touchdown game (Hiram, 2012), and he didn't commit a single turnover in the process.

Barnes was part of the first touchdown of the day just 47 seconds into the game, as he connected with Justin Rice on a 22-yard strike. His next touchdown came when he kept the ball on a 1-yard run early in the second quarter, and then later in the stanza, he hooked up with Rice again, this time on a well-thrown 8-yard pass into tight coverage. Finally, Barnes tossed a 10-yard screen pass to Sean Hackel late in the fourth quarter that put the Fighting Scots ahead 39-14.

Wooster (1-1, 1-0 NCAC) will look to make it two in a row when it visits Hiram College (2-1, 1-1 NCAC) on Saturday for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
