2013 D3football.com All-America Team

The College of Wooster's Shawn Bowman was one of 103 players selected All-American by D3football.com, as the website announced its 15th annual All-America Team prior to Stagg Bowl XLI, the NCAA Div. III national championship game, on Friday night.

Bowman, a junior, was recognized for his effort on special teams. Utilizing his 6-3 length and good speed, Bowman made a series of splash plays, as he came around the edge to block three kicks during 2013, headlined by a 47-yard field goal attempt on the last play of the game against Ohio Wesleyan University. That secured a 28-27 Wooster win, the largest comeback in school history (the Fighting Scots had trailed 27-7 early in the fourth quarter), and a 7-3 final record.

Bowman's other blocks were a field goal, also against Ohio Wesleyan, and a punt at Allegheny College, and seven of his 53 tackles on the season came on kickoff coverage.

As a cornerback, Bowman intercepted three passes, broke up five passes, and recovered a fumble, in addition to the 46 tackles.
