Wooster Football Announces “Help Keep Babies at Home” Fundraiser

Fundraiser Form

In conjunction with Saturday night's home opener, The College of Wooster football team is excited to announce a new partnership with Wooster Community Hospital (WCH) and encourages fans to donate to "Help Keep Babies at Home."

A community service fundraiser, initiated by Wooster second-year head coach Frank Colaprete, the idea is to raise money for WCH's new Level II Neonatal Special Care Nursery, so that infants who require additional care due to illness or prematurity can stay in Wooster, rather than be sent to Akron Children's Hospital.

"We wanted to do something to support the community," said Colaprete. "There are a lot of great causes to raise money for, but we wanted to do something that impacts our community directly. This keeps the money in town and helps people in the city of Wooster and Wayne County."

Adding some "fun" to the fundraiser, those interested in donating to this worthy cause can make a tax-deductible pledge of any amount per Wooster's total wins this season (if the Fighting Scots win nine games and you pledge $10 per win, that's $90 at the end of the season), or simply make a one-time flat donation.

"We sincerely appreciate this initiative by the College's football program," stated WCH CEO Bill Sheron. "Their support of this project again highlights the connection between college and community, and this nursery will allow the hospital to serve more patients locally and raise the level of care for newborns at our hospital."

There is a form that can be filled out in each game program, or print out the .pdf, and mail to:
