Running back Sean Hackel of The College of Wooster is part of the 40-man roster for Team Stars & Stripes, a team of NCAA Div. III all-stars who will take on the CONADEIP All-Stars in the Tazón de Estrellas (Bowl of Stars) Dec. 20 at Puebla, Mexico, Global Football announced on Thursday.

Hackel recently completed his Wooster career with a second all-North Coast Athletic Conference honor. He began 2014 looking to replicate a 1,000-yard junior season (1,097) with 108 rushing yards at Washington & Jefferson College, a participant in the NCAA Div. III Football Championship field, 137 at Oberlin College, and a career-high 205 against Hiram College. Then, Hackel suffered a knee injury during week four, missed one game, and played through pain the second half of the season en route to 817 yards, still good for second in the conference (90.8 ypg). He scored five touchdowns and also served as the Fighting Scots' fourth-leading receiver with 18 catches for 139 yards.

For his career, Hackel finished with 1,914 rushing yards, 508 receiving, and 2,793 all-purpose – the 10th-most in school history. He totaled 16 touchdowns (14 rushing, 2 receiving).

The players and coaches of Team Stars & Stripes will spend seven days in Mexico, with two-a-day practices and community service projects, plus the opportunity to explore the region.

Wooster's last participant at the Tazón de Estrellas was defensive tackle Dan Terhune in 2011, and previously, offensive lineman Rick Drushal (2006), running back Tony Sutton (2004), and cornerback Nick Hajjar (2003) represented the Scots at the event's forerunner, the Aztec Bowl.
