The College of Wooster's Ian Crawford, Mitchell Czerniak, and Tyler Gerwig earned membership into the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame's 2015 Hampshire Honor Society, the NFF announced on Wednesday.

The Hampshire Honor Society is made up of senior football players from all collegiate divisions who are a starter or significant contributor and have achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average or better.

Crawford, a history major with a 3.60 GPA, started 16 games at defensive end over the last two seasons. After biding his time and developing his first two years, Crawford became an integral piece of new coach Frank Colaprete's defensive scheme on the line. Statistically, he accumulated 57 tackles, including 5.5 sacks, while applying pressure and eating up blockers that resulted in his teammates' success.

Czerniak led the North Coast Athletic Conference in tackles each of the last two years and totaled 322 for his career, all while maintaining a 3.30 GPA as a psychology major. The 6-0, 225-pound linebacker was a second-team all-NCAC pick twice, and in addition to being the seventh-leading tackler in school history, he contributed many splash plays – 17.0 tackles for losses, three forced fumbles, two interceptions, and two fumble recoveries.

Gerwig, who carries a 3.95 GPA while majoring in chemistry and was previously voted a first-team Academic All-American®, served as the team's top punter and kickoff specialist in both 2013 and 2014. His career punting average was 36.5 yards – eighth-best in team history – and he occasionally kicked field goals, making a 43-yarder once, which was the longest by a Wooster kicker since 2002.
