Fans at this Saturday afternoon's College of Wooster football game may notice that the Fighting Scots are all wearing gold-colored shoelaces, reason being they are trying to help in the fight against childhood cancer as part of Go4theGoal's "Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer" campaign. Gold is the color for childhood cancer awareness, and September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

"Our team knows that we are here to make a difference on the field, in the classroom, with the community, and in life," said third-year Wooster head coach Frank Colaprete. "When we heard about Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer, we knew it was something that we as a team wanted to be involved with. It is a great opportunity to help the children and their families in our community."

Money generated from Wooster's gold lace sales, plus any additional donations received, will support kids who are fighting cancer in Ohio. Noteworthy, the Scots are the first college football team in the 2015 season to "Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer" through Go4theGoal.

"It is always an honor working with college teams," said Beth Stefanacci, Go4theGoal's executive director. "But it is even more special when football programs like Wooster get involved. We are excited about our new partnership with Fighting Scots football and their efforts to support local children. We look forward to many more years of working together."

To support Wooster's football program in the fight against childhood cancer, please consider purchasing gold laces or making a donation at go4thegoal.org.
