National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society Release

Seniors Trevor Bowden, Clayton Geib, Jack Marousek, and Patrick Mohorcic of The College of Wooster football team have been granted membership in the 2018 National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society, the NFF announced on Wednesday.

The Hampshire Honor Society is annually made up of seniors from all collegiate divisions who were a starter or significant contributor and achieved a minimum 3.2 GPA.

Bowden, a communication studies major with a 3.30 GPA, served as the Fighting Scots' placekicker and punter during various points of his career. As a senior, Bowden earned second-team all-conference honors, went 48-for-51 on extra-point attempts, and made 6-of-9 field goals. Bowden's 48 extra-point makes are the second-most on the program's single-season leaderboard. For his career, Bowden's 126 extra-point makes, 21 field goals, and 94.7 extra-point percentage rank in the top four in program history. His 189 career points are eighth all-time, and the second-most by a placekicker.

Geib sported a 3.79 GPA as a chemistry major at the College. The right guard was a posthumous honorary selection to the all-conference first-team and College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District® team this past fall. For his career, Geib earned a pair of all-conference and Academic All-District® certificates and was a three-year start on the offensive line.

Marousek, a business economics major with a 3.60 GPA, factored heavily into the Scots' success in a variety of roles during his career. Marousek served as the Scots' holder for all four years, including when Bowden set the North Coast Athletic Conference and Wooster records for most points scored by kicking (18) and the Scots' record with five field goals against Hiram College in 2015. Marousek also played quarterback during his time in a Scots' jersey, and was voted to the CoSIDA Academic All-District® team as a senior.

Mohorcic, a political science major with a 3.62 GPA, continues to add to his long list of accolades this year. Most recently, the three-year starter on the offensive line earned a combined $9,500 in scholarships towards postgraduate studies as a recipient of the prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship and as Wooster's honoree for a postgraduate scholarship by the Mike Cleary Northeastern Ohio Chapter of the NFF. Mohorcic's one of four collegiate finalists for the prestigious Coach Wooden Citizenship Cup, was the captain of the 2017 Allstate American Football Coaches Association Good Works Team®, earned second-team all-conference honors, and was voted to the CoSIDA Academic All-District® team.
