One of the team’s four captains … Dynamic and versatile, and gives the staff someone who can play nearly every position, per the staff.

2017: Moved up to defensive end to give the Scots a veteran presence on the line … Started all 10 games and finished the year seventh on the team with 45 tackles … Ranked third on the team with 4.5 tackles for loss and tied for second with 3.5 sacks, two of which came versus Denison (Nov. 4) that went for a loss of 12 yards … Logged a 12-yard sack at Kenyon (Oct. 28) … Delivered a strong start to the season with 12 tackles between pair of wins against Bluffton (Sept. 2) and Allegheny (Sept. 9) … Capped the year with a season-high eight stops at Wittenberg (Nov. 11) … Tallied seven tackles versus nationally-ranked Wabash (Sept. 30).

2016: Solidified role as a defensive leader who appeared in all 10 games at linebacker with nine starts (didn’t start “senior day”) … Tops on the team with 86 tackles, with per-game average tying for eighth in the conference … Named to the D3football.com Team of the Week for career-best 17 tackles in win over Oberlin (Oct. 18) … Notched a touchdown-saving tackle on the 1-yard line in the first quarter against the Yeomen … Finished the season with three double-digit tackle games including 15 versus DePauw (Sept. 17) and 10 a week prior against Allegheny (Sept. 10) … Overall had at least seven tackles in every game but three … Key in Wooster ranking in the top quarter of the division in tackles for loss per game with seven on the year.

2015: Rapid improvement resulted in five starts to end a successful freshman campaign … Appeared in all 10 games on the year … Ranked third on the team with 53 tackles, 6.5 of which went for loss … Tied for the team lead with four forced fumbles … Also credited with 1.5 sacks and three pass breakups … Responded with season-high 10 tackles in first start versus Oberlin (Oct. 17) … Overall, recorded 35 tackles and three forced fumbles in games started … Forced a fumble in three straight games against No. 9 Wabash (Oct. 24), Kenyon (Oct. 31), and Hiram (Nov. 7) … Added eight tackles against Hiram, and capped freshman slate with seven versus Ohio Wesleyan (Nov. 14).

Prior to Wooster: Decorated student-athlete at Fraser High School, earning three all-league honors … Also earned four all-county certificates, and a pair of all-metro east awards … Lettered four years in football and wrestling, and three years as a member of the track & field team.

Personal: Born March 10, 1997 … Son of Melody Bowers … Majoring in psychology … Earned prestigious Gilman Scholar award to study abroad in New Zealand as a sophomore.
