2018 D3football.com All-Region Release

The College of Wooster football team's junior duo of defensive tackle D'Andre Brown and tight end Jacob Lewis were named to D3football.com's All-North Region second-team, the website announced on Tuesday.

Brown, who earlier this fall was elevated to the All-North Coast Athletic Conference first-team, anchored a defense currently 30th in NCAA Div. III with 3.20 sacks per game, while individually, the two-year starter finished 10th within the NCAC with 0.50 sacks per game. Brown led Wooster's defensive line with 53 tackles and tied for first on the team with 10 tackles for loss. Brown was a key member of Wooster's stout rushing defense that held the opposition to 113.0 yards per game on the ground with that marking the program's best showing since 2008.

Lewis finished eighth in the NCAC with a career-high 654 yards receiving from his tight end position. The junior hauled in 40 receptions on the season and logged a remarkable 16.4 yards-per-catch average. Lewis had a career day versus Hiram College with nine receptions for 161 yards, and he surpassed 100 stripes for the first time during Wooster's 24-21 win over DePauw University on Sept. 22. Lewis is part of an offense ranked 27th nationally in passing (276.3 yards per game), a total second within the NCAC.

Noteworthy, Wooster's multiple all-region selections are a first for the program since Brandon James earned recognition at both safety and for his work on special teams in 2014. Wooster last had multiple student-athletes on the all-region team in 2013.

Wooster finished the season at 5-5, including a 4-5 mark in NCAC play.
