Senior Salute: Kobe Matesic

Throughout the spring and summer, we'll be honoring our senior student-athletes with a "Senior Salute" series. Today's featured senior is Kobe Matesic, a communications studies major from Buffalo, New York. Matesic is a member of the football team.

Q: Why did you choose to attend The College of Wooster?
A: Wooster gave me the best deal and I liked the campus.

Q: What does it mean to you to be a Fighting Scot student-athlete?
A: Being a Fighting Scot student-athlete means getting after it and representing what you say.

Q: What's the best part about being a student-athlete at The College of Wooster?
A: Being a student-athlete helps me stay prepared to multitask.

Q: What else were you involved with on campus besides your sport?
A: I work for the grounds crew.

Q: Which College of Wooster faculty or staff member has made the greatest impact on you and why? 
A: There isn't one in particular. Rather, each different group of faculty and staff members because they understand and taught me the virtue of patience. 

Q: What other people or resources impacted your Wooster experience in a positive way and how did these people/resources set you up to be successful at Wooster?
A: The football coaches definitely helped develop me as a man and taught me how to carry myself and live my life.

Q: Tell us a bit about your Independent Study project?
A: I'm examining how female rap artists can help to shape the creation of identities within people.

Q: Reflecting back on your time at Wooster, what is one piece of advice you would give your first-year (freshman) self?
A: All that glitters isn't gold, but it doesn't mean it's worthless.
