Petracci a Nominee for Allstate AFCA Good Works Team®

2021 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® nominees

Angelo Petracci, a standout linebacker at The College of Wooster, is among the 109 student-athletes who were nominated for the 2021 Allstate American Football Coaches Association Good Works Team®, as announced by the organizations on Wednesday.

During Wooster's last full season, Petracci was a key member of a defense which posted one of its top statistical outputs in recent years. In 2019, Petracci tied for the team lead with 55 tackles, while as a team, Wooster finished third nationally in red zone defense and 24th nationally in scoring defense. The Fighting Scots surrendered 162 points and 3,433 yards, marking the program's best totals since 2008 and 2011, respectively. Petracci logged a career-high 14 tackles at Allegheny College and made nine more stops in the season finale at Hiram College.

On campus, the neuroscience major is a member of Men Working for Change, a student organization that raises awareness on domestic violence and advocates against it. He's on the executive board of Phi Sigma Alpha and is a former service chair for the College's Inter-Greek Council. Additionally, Petracci's a member of the neuroscience club.

The 22-member team and honorary coach are selected by a voting panel of former Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® members and journalists, and will be announced in September. Petracci's seeking to become the second Scot named to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team®. Wooster alumnus Patrick Mohorcic was named to the 2017 team, and he went on become the team's captain after winning the fan vote.
