John Battaglia, who started at running back and linebacker different seasons at Wooster, is now a second-year coach for the Fighting Scots in 2016. He will be in charge of the strong safeties after mentoring the tight ends in 2015.
Battaglia, who is a teacher in the Loudonville School District when not coaching on the gridiron, was the teams’ third-leading tackler as a senior with 82 stops, including 7.0 for losses. He spent significant time in the offensive backfield during his sophomore and junior years, accumulating 782 all-purpose yards.
The Akron, Ohio, product graduated from Wooster with a bachelor’s degree in history.
