Trailing 2-1 late in the game, Taylor Thorp scored with 9:02 remaining in regulation to knot up the score, but Wittenberg University responded with two quick goals down the stretch to sneak past The College of Wooster by a 4-2 margin Saturday, in a match-up between North Coast Athletic Conference rivals at Springfield, Ohio.

Leah Prescott carried over her momentum from her two-goal outing earlier in the week, and put the Fighting Scots (2-2, 1-1 NCAC) on the board first by redirecting a pass from Nikki Sever into the cage about 15 minutes into the action.

The Tigers (2-3, 1-0 NCAC) tied the game at 1-1 just before halftime, and took their first lead, 2-1, early in the second stanza, but the Scots had an eight-minute stretch (54-61 min. mark) where they dominated possession and fired off five shot attempts, including Thorp's goal on a Julia Franceschi assist that made it 2-2 with nine minutes to go.

Wittenberg had its own offensive surge after that, as it recorded seven shot attempts in the game's closing minutes. Goalkeeper Meredith Farley managed four of her season-high nine saves during the binge, but ultimately, the Tigers scored twice to seal the outcome.

Next up, Wooster kicks off a three-game homestand against non-conference foe Washington & Jefferson College (4-2) on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
