Wooster Stifled by NCAC Nemesis DePauw 2-0

WOOSTER, Ohio – Goalkeeper Meredith Farley made a career-high 19 saves, and The College of Wooster's defense did its best to fend off DePauw University's barrage of shot attempts, but in the end, the Fighting Scots were not able to generate any offense and were shut out 2-0 in a North Coast Athletic Conference tilt Sunday afternoon at John P. Papp Stadium.

The Tigers (5-3, 4-0 NCAC) could have won by a larger margin, as they possessed the ball on Wooster's defensive end for much of the afternoon, but Farley kept the Scots (3-4, 2-2 NCAC) in the game by making a slew of impressive saves.

DePauw took a 1-0 lead late in the first half on a goal from Paige Henry, and then just 1:04 into the second half, the Tigers scored on one of their 21 penalty corners, as Chelsea Cutler rattled the cage to make it a two-goal game.

Wooster didn't record a single shot attempt on the day, while DePauw was credited with 28. The Scots did earn a penalty corner with about nine minutes to go in regulation, but were unable to manufacture a shot from it.

Next up on the schedule is another NCAC match-up, as Wooster travels to Denison University (5-1, 3-1 NCAC) on Wednesday for a 4:30 p.m. start.
