WOOSTER, Ohio – The College of Wooster and Oberlin College took advantage of penalty corner opportunities, with all six first-half goals coming in that fashion, but Kerry O'Connor scored a traditional goal midway through the second half that put the Fighting Scots ahead for good and gave them a 4-3 victory over Oberlin College on Saturday afternoon at John P. Papp Stadium.

It was Wooster's (4-5, 3-3 NCAC) 15th-straight win over Oberlin (2-6, 1-4 NCAC), although this one was closer than most, as a much more competitive Yeowomen team took the field today.

Oberlin scored on its first penalty corner attempt just 4:13 into the action, and that kick-started an unusual first half, which saw the Scots and Yeowomen trade goals exclusively off penalty corners en route to a 3-3 tie at halftime.

Kayla O'Connor, Taylor Thorp, and Megan McGinley notched the first-half goals, with McGinley's knotting up the score with just 2:32 to go before the break. Josie Rey was key on all three scores, as she settled the ball and located a shooter for an assist on each goal.

Finally, in the second half, Kerry O'Connor rattled the cage on an assist from Leah Prescott that created the 4-3 margin Wooster rode to victory.

Meredith Farley made three saves in goal, with one coming in the game's final ticks, while Carrie Mount also saw some playing time (14:55), and came away with one save.

The Scots will be right back in action again tomorrow, as they visit Transylvania University (5-4) for a 1 p.m. start.
