The College of Wooster scored three times during a seven-minute spurt early in the second half to take a 4-2 lead that it would not relinquish, as the Fighting Scots won their last non-conference game of the regular season over Transylvania University on Sunday afternoon at Lexington, Ky.

Wooster (5-5) trailed 2-1 when Transylvania (4-7) scored about a minute and a half into the second stanza, but the Scots retaliated in a hurry, as Megan McGinley scored during a penalty corner on a pass from Kayla O'Connor that knotted the game at two apiece.

Less than two minutes later, Nikki Sever nothced her second goal of the afternoon, and then at the 45:26-mark, Taylor Thorp scored her third goal in as many games to give the Scots its 4-2 margin.

Sever gave Wooster its initial 1-0 lead midway through the first half with a goal on an assist from O'Connor. It marked her first goal of the season.

The Scots controlled the game, with a 31-14 advantage in shot attempts and 15-4 in penalty corners. Meredith Farley made five saves in goal, while Anjela Galimberti (2) and Isabel Perman (1) combined to record three defensive saves.

Next up, Wooster visits North Coast Athletic Conference foe Kenyon College (6-4, 4-2 NCAC) on Saturday at noon.
