WOOSTER, Ohio – Nikki Sever became one of just nine players in College of Wooster field hockey history to reach 100 career points, but the Fighting Scots were edged out by Kenyon College on a last-minute goal, 3-2, in the regular-season finale for both North Coast Athletic Conference teams Saturday afternoon at a cold and rainy John P. Papp Stadium.

The Scots (9-9, 7-7 NCAC) entered the halftime break tied with the Ladies (12-6, 10-4 NCAC) at 1-1 thanks to a late goal at the 33:21-mark, when Sever delivered a pass to Taylor Thorp, and the latter one-touched it past the goalkeeper. Sever's assist was a special one, as it pushed her career point total to 100 with 29 goals and 42 assists. She is the only Wooster player in the 100-point club to have more assists than goals.

Sever was back at it less than three minutes into the second half, as this time she located Kerry O'Connor at the left side of the cage, and O'Connor redirected the pass to put Wooster out in front 2-1.

The Scots hung onto their one-goal lead for about 15 minutes, but then the Ladies scored off a penalty corner in the 53rd minute to knot the game at two apiece.

Kenyon was the aggressor during the last 10 minutes of the game, as it outshot Wooster 6-0, including three attempts that were saved by Meredith Farley, but ultimately, Maddie Breschi made a nice individual play around the top of the striking circle to get open, and then fired in the game-winning goal with 23 seconds to go in regulation to drop the Scots 3-2.

Prior to the start of the game, Wooster celebrated "Senior Day," where Edith Anderson, Farley, Josie Rey, and Sever were honored.

Despite the loss, the Scots sewed up the fourth seed in the NCAC Tournament and will play a semifinal match-up at top-seeded DePauw University (15-4, 13-1 NCAC) on Wednesday.
