Senior captain Lauren Abbott recorded a career-high three assists while five different Fighting Scots contributed to the scoring column as The College of Wooster field hockey team shutout Oberlin College 5-0 on Wednesday night at the Knowlton Complex in Oberlin, Ohio.

Against Oberlin (1-12, 0-7 North Coast Athletic Conference), Wooster (7-4, 4-3 NCAC) outshot the Yeowomen 30-2, including 12-0 in the first half.

Sophomore Grace O'Leary tallied the game-winner just 10 minutes in off the assist from Abbott, who tripled her previous career-best with helpers on three of the Scots' first four goals. Additionally, Abbott is now tied for second in the league with six assists through 11 games.

Junior captain Erika Womack followed shortly after with her sixth goal of the season in the 19th minute, tying her career-high single-season total from 2015. Again, Abbott provided the assist on a cross into the middle as Womack finished first-time.

Five minutes later, junior Maeven Barry recorded her first goal of the season off the pass from first-year Sydney Schuster to close out the opening 35 minutes with a 3-0 lead.

In the 43rd minute, first-year Caitlyn O'Connor tallied her sixth goal of the season with an open-net finish after a long through-ball from Abbott.

Just 30 seconds later, Schuster took it herself with an unassisted backhander to make it a 5-0 advantage.

Sophomore Madi Thomas recorded two saves in the second half in relief of first-year starter Katie Shideler. Lida LeVine also saw action in the cage in the second half, and the junior posted a clean slate over the final 22:42 to help keep the Scots' sixth shutout of the year intact.

Wooster is back over .500 in conference play as the Scots prepare for Saturday's match at Ohio Wesleyan University. In their first meeting on Sep. 6, sophomore Harriet Sudduth scored the game-winner in overtime to defeat the Battling Bishops 1-0. The match is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Delaware, Ohio.
