Sophomore Cate Barkdoll brought home her first North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week honors for field hockey (her second overall including softball) as announced by the conference office on Monday.

Wooster won its lone game this week in a 1-0 victory over Washington & Jefferson College. Barkdoll fended off five of the Presidents' six shootout chances as the game went scoreless after regulation and two overtime periods.

Barkdoll let the second attempt get by, but stopped the next four, including the clinching stop following senior Olivia Nengel's go-ahead stroke.

Barkdoll had one save between regulation and overtime. She collected her second straight shutout after last week's 3-0 win over Earlham College.

Wooster's defense on Saturday allowed just four shots in 80 minutes of play.

Wooster is 4-2 on the season and 2-2 in conference play. They take a two-game win streak into Kenyon College on Tuesday.
