The College of Wooster drained 19-of-42 3-pointers, keying a 93-61 victory over the host school in Hanover College's John R. Collier Tournament consolation game on Sunday afternoon at Hanover, Ind. The 19 3-pointers made were the fourth-most in team history.

Wooster (2-3), playing less than 24 hours after a close 76-67 setback to No. 7 ranked University of Wisconsin-Platteville, jumped out to a 16-5 lead just over six minutes into Sunday's action. The Fighting Scots misfired on their first two attempts from beyond the arc, but then made four in a row, including three by Justin Hallowell (Worthington, Ohio / Thomas Worthington), to build an early double-digit cushion.

Hanover (1-4) would only get as close as eight the rest of the way, with that coming at 25-17 at the 5:00 mark in the opening half. Moments later, Wooster put together a 14-5 burst, turning a 28-19 game into an 18-point margin (42-24), and it entered the break with a 45-28 advantage.

The Scots scored seven of the first eight points of the second half and the lead stayed above 20 for nearly the entire stanza, as they eventually secured a 32-point win.

Eight different Wooster players made a 3-pointer, led by Nathan Balch's (Westerville, Ohio / Olentangy) 5-for-10 effort. In all, the sophomore transfer ended up with 17 points and six assists, both game highs.

Balch was one of five Scots in double figures, as Matt Fegan (Strongsville, Ohio / Strongsville), Ian Franks (Greenwich, Ohio / South Central), and Hallowell finished with 12 points apiece, and Bryan Wickliffe (Columbus, Ohio / St. Charles Prep) had 10.

Also of note, Greg Ross (Cincinnati, Ohio / Archbishop McNicholas) collected a game-high eight rebounds, all on the defensive end, helping Wooster to a 40-33 advantage in that category.

The Scots shot 52.3 percent overall from the field (34-of-65), including 45.2 percent on 3-pointers, while holding the Panthers to 34.8 percent (23-of-66) and 15.4 percent (4-of-26), respectively.

Mike Case and Mitchell Meyer each tallied 15 markers in the scorebook to lead Hanover.

Next, Wooster will host Oberlin College (2-3) in the North Coast Athletic Conference season opener Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
