WOOSTER, Ohio – A late 11-0 run, which included two 3-pointers from Matt Fegan, was just enough for The College of Wooster to get past Kenyon College Saturday afternoon as the Fighting Scots remain undefeated in North Coast Athletic Conference action after a 71-59 victory at Timken Gymnasium.

Wooster (9-4, 4-0 NCAC) never trailed during the second half, but also was barely holding on to the lead, and when Uros Vasilijevik of Kenyon (3-9, 0-4 NCAC) buried a 3-pointer, it was a 57-56 game with just under 5:00 to play.

After a timeout by the visiting Lords, the Scots rattled off the 11 unanswered points, first on a jumper by Brandon Johnson, then Fegan's back-to-back conversions from outside, followed by another 3-pointer, this time from Justin Hallowell. That stretch put Wooster up 12 (68-56) around the two-minute mark and Kenyon never got any closer than nine over the remainder.

The Scots had led by a dozen one other time, 31-19, before the Lords ended the first half strong, closing to within two on a couple of occasions (35-33, 37-35), and it was 40-35 at the break.

During the second, Wooster maintained a 2-to-7-point edge until Vailijevik's 3-pointer.

Overall, the Scots shot slightly better, finishing at 42.9 percent from the field (24-of-56) and 81.3 percent at the foul line (13-of-16) to Kenyon's 37.3 percent (19-of-51) and 66.7 percent (12-of-18), respectively. Wooster also owned a 39-31 rebounding advantage.

Fegan was the key, sparking the team off the bench with a career-high 19 points – seven more than his previous best and his first double-digit game this season. He hit 5-of-9 3-pointers, also a career best.

Matching Fegan's output was Hallowell, with 14 of his 19 coming in the first half, and he made 5-of-10 from beyond the arc. Also in double figures were Bryan Wickliffe and Ian Franks with 12 and 10 tallies in the scorebook, respectively.

Franks and Hallowell shared the rebounding honors with eight apiece, while Johnson contributed a game-high six assists to go with nine points.

J.T. Knight paced the Lords with a 20-point effort, which included 4-of-11 3-point shooting.

Next, Wooster hits a crucial stretch with three of its next four on the road, starting at Allegheny College (6-6, 3-1 NCAC) Wednesday night.
