The College of Wooster made 20-of-26 field goals as part of a 61-point second half, as the No. 1 ranked Fighting Scots rolled to an 89-48 victory at regional foe Anderson University Monday night in Anderson, Ind.

Both squads were part of the 2010 NCAA Div. III Championships, and thus the match-up was expected to be a close one, but after leading 28-22 at the break, Wooster (9-0) scored the initial 10 points of the second half and never looked back.

Justin Hallowell accounted for eight of the points himself during the opening moments of the second and the junior forward wound up with a season-high 26 for the game. A timeout by Anderson (5-3) caused a brief interruption to the Fighting Scots' momentum, but shortly thereafter with the score 41-26, Wooster added a 26-5 spurt for a 36-point cushion (67-31).

With the outcome sealed, the Scots freely substituted the final eight-plus minutes en route to the final 41-point margin.

Wooster also got off to a hot start in the first half, running out to an 18-5 advantage over the opening 10 minutes, however, the Ravens outplayed the Scots the next 10 and were within six at the half.

Statistically, Wooster's red-hot second half helped result in a .623 field-goal rate for the game (33-for-53) and Anderson shot just 24.6 percent overall from the floor (17-for-69). The Scots also held a decisive rebounding advantage of 46-30.

Hallowell's 26 points came on 9-of-14 field goals, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range, and 4-of-4 free throws, while Ian Franks chipped in a balanced stat line of 15 points, six boards, and five assists. Also registering double figures in the scoring column was Jake Mays with 10, and other noteworthy performances included   Matt Fegan's career-high nine-assist night and Bryan Wickliffe's game-high eight rebounds.

Next, Wooster will host the annual "Mose" Hole/Kiwanis Classic between Christmas and New Year's. The Scots take on 25th-ranked John Carroll University (6-3) on Dec. 28 and Wilmington College (3-5) on Dec. 29, with tip time at 7:30 p.m. each night.
