WOOSTER, Ohio – The College of Wooster, ranked No. 14 again in this week's D3hoops.com top-25 poll, received 23-point efforts from Xavier Brown and Evan Pannell as well as a double-double from Dan Fanelly as the Fighting Scots got past Kenyon College by a 77-63 count in North Coast Athletic Conference action inside Timken Gymnasium Wednesday night.

Wooster (10-2, 4-1 NCAC) never trailed, easing out to a 19-7 lead less than seven minutes into play. The opening stretch featured a personal 9-0 run for Pannell at one point.

Later in the first half, Kenyon (4-8, 2-3 NCAC) scored seven unanswered points to pull within 25-19, and after the Scots built their advantage back to 14 at 37-23, the visitors again rallied to make it a 39-30 margin at intermission.

During the second half, Wooster pushed the lead further out with an early 13-2 run that resulted in an 18-point cushion (52-34). The Scots' largest lead was 23 points (60-37), followed by a Kenyon 11-2 spurt, but that 14-point spread was as close as it got.

Wooster shot an even 50 percent from the field (27-for-54), helped hold the Lords to a .361 rate (22-for-61), and outrebounded them 45-32. Kenyon's 3-point shooting (9-for-15) and low number of turnovers (9) highlighted its play.

Individually, Pannell had a near-perfect night shooting the ball – 7-for-7 on field goals and 7-of-9 free throws – while Brown's 23 points were also very efficient as he was 9-for-15 from the floor.

Fanelly produced a 17-point, 15-rebound stat line, with the 15 rebounds being a career high.

Also noteworthy, Spencer Williams distributed a game-high six assists.

Jonathan Amador tossed in 17 points plus added four assists without a turnover to pace the Lords.

The Scots will be home again on Saturday as they welcome Oberlin College (6-6, 2-3 NCAC) to Timken Gym for a 4 p.m. tip-off.
