LaLonde Recognized on NABC Honors Court

 Alex LaLonde

Recent College of Wooster graduate Alex LaLonde was named to the 2015-16 National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court, which celebrates men's basketball student-athletes who have excelled academically, as announced by the coaches organization this week.

LaLonde, a second-team all-North Coast Athletic Conference honoree, was Wooster's top defender before the senior forward's career came to an unfortunate end due to illness. He regularly drew the assignment of the oppositions' leading scorer, and regularly held them to under their scoring average. Offensively, he produced a stat line of 8.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.4 blocks, and 1.0 steals per contest. LaLonde ended his playing career on a strong note with double-figure point totals in four of his last seven games, headlined by 23 points in a win over nationally-ranked Ohio Wesleyan University on Jan. 27. LaLonde's leadership helped spur Wooster to a 24-8 record, the North Coast Athletic Conference championship (15-3), and a NCAA Div. III record 14th straight national tournament appearance.

In the classroom, LaLonde graduated with a 3.33 GPA while majoring in business economics.
