Williams' 20-Point Games Headline All-Around Effort as Senior Guard Named NCAC Player-of-the-Week

Spencer Williams

Spencer Williams of The College of Wooster turned in back-to-back 20-point games last week, and the North Coast Athletic Conference took notice by selecting the guard as the NCAC Men's Basketball Player-of-the-Week on Monday.

Williams, who upped his season high in points in each of the Fighting Scots' last three games, started his week off with 21 points during a 91-70 win over Hiram College on Wednesday. In the win, Williams shot 7-of-14 from the floor and went 5-for-7 on the night at the charity stripe. His contributions weren't limited to scoring as the senior's six assists were one shy of a career high, and he secured five rebounds to pair with three steals.

On Saturday, Williams' efforts helped stake Wooster to a one-point lead at halftime during an eventual 83-63 win at DePauw University. Williams played the entire first half while scoring 14 points, and for the game, he one-upped Wednesday's point haul with 22. The senior went 8-for-11 from the floor, including an impressive 4-for-5 from beyond the arc in Saturday's victory.

Williams is the first Scot to earn the NCAC's weekly honor since Reece Dupler did so on Feb. 8, 2016.

Williams and his Wooster teammates are back in action on Sunday, Dec. 17 with a noon contest versus Saint Joseph's College of Maine (4-3) at Daytona, Fla.
