About the Renovation:
This summer, construction crews completed a $5 million renovation of the College's athletics and events facility. Phase I featured a complete teardown and replacement of the 50-year-old bleachers and gym floor. Wooster's new court is made of high-grade northern hard maple, and was installed by The Ohio Floor Company.
The new bleachers, supplied by Farnham Equipment Company and manufactured by Hussey Seating, consist of 636 chair-back seats and 676 bleacher seats with backs in the lower level and 1,302 all-polymer, ergonomically-designed traditional bleacher seating in the upper level. Fans will notice improved hand rails in each aisle, and the facility is wheelchair accessible with 21 designated spaces.
Other noticeable upgrades include new, larger scoreboards, supplied by Sports Equipment Specialists, a much-improved sound system by Precision Multi-Media, new basketball hoops, replacement padding around the gym, and a fresh coat of paint.
