The College of Wooster's Danyon Hempy earned the North Coast Athletic Conference's Player of the Week Award, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Hempy scored a co-team-high 35 points during a 2-0 week for the Fighting Scots, who posted a 78-53 win at Oberlin College on Wednesday and followed that up with a 73-65 win at No. 13 Wittenberg University on Saturday. The junior scored 19 points on 8-for-12 shooting against the Yeomen and added a team-high 16 tallies in the scoring column against the Tigers.
Hempy posted a new career-high in rebounds with nine at Wittenberg, and finished the week with 14 boards, six assists, four blocked shots, and three steals.
Hempy and his Wooster (12-3, 7-1 NCAC) teammates are back in action on Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 7:30 p.m. versus Denison University (5-9, 2-6 NCAC).
