Sword Leads Solid Wooster Showing at Guy Kuhn Invitational

Blake Sword Behind a strong showing from Blake Sword, The College of Wooster men's golf team carded a ninth-place finish at the highly competitive Guy Kuhn Invitational, hosted by Allegheny College at the Country Club of Meadville on Sunday and Monday.

Sword was among the top finishers at the event, helping guide Wooster to a 618, which was just three strokes out of seventh-place in the standings. The junior shot a three-over par (75) during the first 18, and then followed that up with a one-over par (73) on Monday en route to a ninth-place finish (148).

Junior Tim Faerber was the next Scot in line at the par-72, 6,688-yard course, shooting consistent rounds of 78 and 77 (155) to finish tied for 26th-place.

Just a stroke behind Faerber was sophomore Adam Finck (156), who rebounded from an 81 on Sunday to post a solid 75 in second day action. Junior Greg Benckart and sophomore John Angelo rounded out Wooster's starting lineup with scores of 160 and 161, respectively.

Next up for the Scots will be the Kenyon Fall Invitational at Springfield, Ohio on Sept. 25-26.
