The College of Wooster men's golf team shaved six strokes off its first round total on Monday, shooting a 304, compared to its 310 on Sunday, to solidify its fifth-place finish at the Mount Union Fall Invitational, which took place at the par-72, 6,694-yard Tannenhauf Golf Course in Alliance, Ohio.

The Fighting Scots shot the fourth-best round of the seven teams in competition Monday, edging out Baldwin Wallace University by two strokes, 304 to 306, but it wasn't quite enough to finish in front of the Yellow Jackets in the final standings. The Scots shot a 614, while the Yellow Jackets carded a 608 to secure fourth-place. John Carroll University won the team championship with a 591.

Pacing the Scots was Marcus Carano, with consistent rounds of 76 and 74 (150), which were good for a share of seventh-place in the field of 60 golfers. Calvin Milligan was just four strokes back, as he tied for 17th-place with a 79-75 (154), while Scott Sears' rounds of 77-79 (156), T.J. Selby's 78-79 (157), and Michael Bay's 84-76 (160) rounded out those couting towards Wooster's team score.

Wooster will be back in action Sunday at the John Carroll Inviational.
