The College of Wooster ended up shorthanded on Sunday, as one of its five golfers was forced to withdraw due to injury at the 27-hole River Greens Invitational, hosted by John Carroll University, and the Fighting Scots wound up in fourth-place among a group of northeast Ohio teams who competed at the River Greens Golf Club in West Lafayette, Ohio.

Sophomore Marcus Carano continued his strong play by shooting an even-par 72 at the River Greens' 6,600-yard layout, then added a 39 over the final nine holes in leading Wooster with a 111 total. He finished just three strokes back of the medalist and seventh overall out of the 33 competitors.

Andrew Herst, Michael Bay, and T.J. Selby posted nearly identical scores for the Scots. Herst, a sophomore, brought a 117 into the clubhouse via a five-over 77 and a 40, while Bay and Selby each recorded 118, the former on a 79 and 39 and the latter 78-40.

Wooster wraps up the fall portion of its 2013-14 schedule this coming weekend with a trip to the DePauw Small Collegiate Classic.
