T.J. Selby and Marcus Carano stood out at the DePauw Small College Classic, as The College of Wooster duo each finished inside the top-10 and earned spots on the All-Tournament Team, while leading the Fighting Scots to its best result of the season – third-place – at the 11-team event that was held Saturday at the Deer Creek Golf Club in Clayton, Ind., and Sunday at the Twin Bridges Golf Club at Danville, Ind.

Wooster scored a 615 (304-311), which was just two strokes behind second-place DePauw University, and better than fellow North Coast Athletic Conference schools Denison University (619), Kenyon College (624), and Wabash College (649), among others.

Selby was one of just three players to shoot par or better Saturday, as he carded an even-par 71 over 18 holes on the 6,695-yard course. He then shot just three over par (75) on a different course Sunday, giving him a 149 overall, which was good for an impressive fifth-place showing in a field of 75 golfers.

Carano wasn't too far behind, as he shot a 76 on Saturday, and then tied for the third-lowest round Sunday with a 75. Overall, he entered the clubhouse with a 151, just two strokes behind teammate Selby, which tied him for eighth-place individually.

Wooster was solid throughout its lineup, as Michael Bay, Calvin Milligan, and Scott Sears were all nearly inside the top half of the standings. Bay tied for 29th with a 157 (80-77), Milligan tied for 37th with a 159 (77-82), and Sears tied for 42nd with a 161 (80-81).

The Scots will look to build off this effort when their season continues in the spring.
