Marcus Carano and T.J. Selby of The College of Wooster each fired 73, tying for third-place out of the 67 competitors during the first 18 holes at Denison University's annual Ted Barclay Invitational, and on Sunday they again shot in the 70s while leading the Fighting Scots to a sixth-place finish among a very competitive field in Granville, Ohio.

As a team, Wooster was unfortunately unable to capitalize on Carano's and Selby's strong day Saturday, as it had to count two scores in the 80s during ideal conditions at the par-71, 6,559-yard Granville Golf Course, and the Scots were in seventh with a 313.

Despite gusty and varying winds throughout the second 18 holes, Wooster trimmed a stroke off of its score and the 312 was enough to move up one spot in the final standings as it edged out fellow North Coast Athletic Conference school Ohio Wesleyan University, 625-627.

Carano and Selby again turned in matching scores, 78s that put them in a tie for 13th-place (151) for the tournament, while Scott Sears ranked as the Scots' low man on Sunday with a 74. Sears also was part of the team score the opening 18 and tied for 41st overall (161).

Rounding out Wooster's scorers were Calvin Milligan and Michael Bay, who carded 80 on Saturday and 82 Sunday, respectively.

This coming week, the Scots will host their annual Nye Intercollegiate at the Wooster Country Club on Friday and Saturday.
