The College of Wooster men's golf team wrapped up its 2016-17 season with an eighth-place finish at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championship Series, that wrapped up on Sunday at Royal American Links in Galena, Ohio. The Fighting Scots shot a 329 in the final round to finish at 958 in the rain-shortened 54-hole championship.

Wooster's future does look bright as a pair of first-years led the way for the Scots, and both were two strokes out of contention for a spot on the all-conference teams. Evan Ferrara and Paul Ryee tied for 21st-place with 237s for the three-round championships. Ryee turned in Wooster's lowest round of the day at 79 on Sunday, while Ferrara was right behind with an 82.

Sophomore Andrew DeLaat tied for 32nd-place at 242, and he had an 85 on his card for the final round of the season.

Senior Scott Sears and junior Brenden Tully finished tied for 36th-place at 245. Sears carded an 83 in his final collegiate round, and that was the third-lowest score of the day for the Scots. Tully joined DeLaat with an 85.

Wittenberg University extended its run of consecutive league crowns out to eight with Sam Stillwell edging out teammate Cameron Willis for the Bob Nye Award, given to the championship medalist, at 218. Allegheny College earned runner-up honors at 918, while Kenyon College placed third at 925.
