Scots Consistent For Sixth Place Effort

MEADVILLE, Pa. – The College of Wooster men's golf team finished sixth of 12 teams with a 615 after play at the Guy and Jeanne Kuhn Invitational in Meadville, Pa. on Monday.

The men boosted their standing one placement after shooting a 307 on Monday. They finished the first round on Saturday at 308.

Junior Evan Ferrara led the Scots with a four-over-par 148 and tied for seventh overall. He improved upon his three-over par 75 first round and finished with five birdies in the second round.

Junior Jimmy Hinton tied for 15th with a 153, and sophomore David Roney tied for 29th with a 156. Junior Mac Bellovich improved three strokes in the second round and finished with a total score of 159 to tie for 44th.

Rounding out Wooster's scoring was junior Paul Ryee's 166 which tied him for 61st. Senior Andrew DeLaat, playing as an individual, shot 165 to finish 60th.

McDaniel College shot a 598 to capture first at the invite. Abe Holmes from Gannon University and Aleksander Overli from the University of Rochester tied for medalist honors by shooting a par 144.

Next up, the men are off until the weekend of Sept. 22 when they will compete in the Mount Union Tannenhauf Fall Invitational in Alliance, Ohio.
