The College of Wooster's Ben Foltz was the clubhouse leader at the midpoint of the University of Mount Union Fall Invitational before finishing as the runner-up, and overall, Wooster's men's golf team placed third in the seven-team field over the weekend at Tannenhauf Golf Club in Alliance, Ohio.
Foltz, playing as an individual, carded a 2-under-par 70 on Saturday before finishing at 1-over-par after a 75 on Sunday. Baldwin Wallace University's Roni Shin edged out Foltz for medalist honors at 3-under-par.
Junior Mac Bellovich led the Scots' five-man lineup with a co-career-best 147. Bellovich shot a 74 on Saturday and followed that up with a 73 on Sunday. Noteworthy, Bellovich's fourth-place finish marked his best ever, and he now has a pair of top-10 showings this fall
Classmates Evan Ferrara and Jimmy Hinton tied for 18th-place at 152. Hinton matched Bellovich's 74 for the lineup's low round on Saturday, and Ferrara was right behind at 75. On Sunday, Ferrara carded a 77, while Hinton was one of two 78s for the Scots.
Senior Andrew DeLaat and sophomore David Roney rounded out the lineup and tied for 25th-place at 154. DeLaat rounded out the scoring rounds on Saturday with a 75, while Roney did likewise on Sunday with a 78.
Baldwin Wallace's 594 led the field, while Mount Union was the runner-up at 599.
Next, Wooster plays in the Harrier Fall Classic, held at Browns Run Country Club in Middletown, Ohio.
