David Roney

David Roney was one of the keys in The College of Wooster men's golf team's win at the Harriers Fall Classic this weekend, and on Monday the North Coast Athletic Conference rewarded the sophomore's stellar play with its Player of the Week honor.

Roney, who tied with junior teammate Evan Ferrara for runner-up honors at 149, fired an even-par 72 on Sunday at Browns Run Country Club in Middletown, Ohio. That marked Wooster's low round of the weekend. A day prior, Roney opened play with a 77

Noteworthy, Roney's runner-up showing marked his first top-five finish of his collegiate career.

Wooster bested Indiana University East by four strokes to win the seven-team tournament.

Wooster closes out its fall season at Wabash College's Fall Classic this weekend.
