The College of Wooster men's golf team closed its fall season with a fourth top-three finish, as the Fighting Scots' 602 was the third-best score on the weekend at the seven-team Wabash College Fall Classic, held at the par-70, 6,188-yard Crawfordsville Country Club in Crawfordsville, Ind.

Wooster entered the final day in the hunt for the team title after a 299 on Saturday that ranked five strokes behind eventual champion DePauw University, which went on to top Oakland City University by 11 strokes for the team title at 584.

Reining North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week David Roney led the way for the Scots, and tied for sixth-place at 148. The Scots' sophomore fired back-to-back 74s en route to his third top-10 outing of the fall.

First-year Ben Foltz continued to shine in his rookie season. Foltz's 73 tied for Wooster's low round of the weekend, and the newcomer followed that up with a 77 on Sunday to finish at 150 and in 10th-place.

Junior Evan Ferrara shot the Scots' other 73 on the weekend, and that round marked a seven-stroke bounce-back from Saturday's 80. Ferrara's 153 placed him in a tie for 18th-place.

Senior Andrew DeLaat and junior Jimmy Hinton rounded out the Scots' lineup, and both student-athletes placed in the top 25. DeLaat came in at 156 after rounds of 77 and 79, while Hinton was two strokes behind Wooster's senior after scores of 75 and 83.

Noteworthy, Wooster logged 12 top-10 finishes this fall.

DePauw's Jacob Kelber was the medalist with a 2-under-par 138.
