This Week's Outlook: The College of Wooster men's golf team travels to Mansfield, Ohio this weekend to take part in the 2019 North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championship held at the Westbrook Country Club. Eighteen holes will be played each day as the 54-hole tournament will start on Friday and wrap up on Sunday.

Tee Times: Friday's men's tee times start at 10 a.m., and pairings will be announced after the Golfstat rankings are updated. Tee times for the second and third rounds will be based on the team standings. The men will tee off on No. 10 starting at 12:27 on Saturday and No. 1 starting at 9 a.m. on Sunday.

Course Information: The Westbrook Country Club is a par 72, 6,910-yard course.

What Happened at Last Year's Tournament: Wittenberg University won its ninth-straight NCAC men's golf title as the Tigers' 898 beat out Ohio Wesleyan University's 899. Wooster finished sixth with a 941. The Scots had their best day on Friday by shooting a 307 and following that with a 312 on Saturday and a 322 on Sunday. Evan Ferrara tied for 16th with a 232, and David Roney shot a 241 for 29th.

Pre-Championship Poll: Wittenberg was voted the favorite to take the team title once again after receiving all eight first-place votes in the pre-championship coaches' poll. Ohio Wesleyan and Denison University rounded out the top three. Wooster came in at seventh.

Friendly Competition: Wooster's top seven golfers this year are separated by no more than an average of three strokes. Evan Ferrara, who has been the team leader in four of eight events, holds the team-best average of 75.3 strokes. He has two top five and five top 10 finishes. David Roney and Mac Bellovich carry averages in the 76's. Ben Foltz and Jimmy Hinton have averages in the 77's, and Andrew DeLaat and Paul Rye are just over 78.

Wooster's Team Title Win at Harriers: Wooster won its lone team title back in the fall at the Miami University Hamilton Harriers Fall Classic held at Browns Run Country Club in Middletown, Ohio. They improved seven strokes in the final round and their 599 total bested Indiana University East's second place score of 603. Ferrara and Roney tied for second place at 149. It was Wooster's first tournament win since the fall of 2017.

Finishing Strong: The senior DeLaat has been playing some of his best golf and has led the team in each of its last two invitationals. He shot a 73 to tie second overall in the rain-shortened Earlham College Men's Spring Invitational, and last week he shot a 149 to tie for fourth overall in Denison University's Ted Barclay Invitational.
